The Biohistory & Evolutionary Medicine Laboratory
PhD candidate – fully funded
The Biohistory and Evolutionary Medicine laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, is looking to recruit a highly motivated PhD student in biological anthropology.
Our lab focuses on research in biohistory of ancient populations, employing morphological and molecular methods, and explores evolutionary processes which contributed to the development of modern human diseases.
Qualifications and experiences:

A MSc in a relevant field, including physical anthropology, biology, zoology, and image processing.

Proficiency with statistical software, particularly R.

Preference for students with experience in Geometrics-Morphometrics.

Lab technician - part time
Job scope: 50%.
Job description:
• Assisting in the operation of the laboratory including technical work on geometric-morphometric software such as Amira/Dragonfly/3DSlicer and production of models and images for research.
• Operating the laboratory equipment and processing the results of the data obtained.
• Performing additional tasks as required by the head of the laboratory.
Job requirements:
• Degree in biology / archeology / computers / other relevant field - desirable.
• Experience in operating and maintaining a variety of scientific equipment.
• Experience with geometric-morphometric software and statistical software such as R.
• Familiarity with graphic software.
• Hebrew and English at a very good level.
• Technical and thorough working abilities.
• Ability to work and learn independently.
• Creativity, punctuality and initiative to learn new tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
